More Halloween projects I’ve got my eye on:
- Spooky tree face pattern at Craftzine – I don’t have a suitable tree for this, but I wonder if I could use it to haunt a tree in a public place?
- Easy, elegant Halloween decorations at Shelterrific – I am pleased to see someone has made a cheap knock-off of that Damien Hirst crystal skull, and I sort of want one. I want these skull swizzle sticks more though…
And look! Another thing! I wish I was one of the lucky neighbours who will find these boxes of Halloween goodies on their doorstep. There is also a PDF with details of how to ‘boo’ houses – sounds like a nice tradition. You leave a treat on the doorstep of two of your neighbours, along with a sign they can hang in their window to say they’ve been boo’d. They then do the same to other neighbours, until everyone in the area has had little mystery Halloween parcels land on their doorsteps. I think you would have to live in a particularly nice neighbourhood for this to work, but I like to know it’s happening.
We set up a ‘boo’ bag for our street, but sadly it seems to have stalled at the very first house. I am so sad. But not as sad as the boys, who were anticipating a bag load of goodies making its way to our house eventually.
The boys must be so sad! Do you think you could manage to put a fake bag on your own doorstep and convince them it’s come from one of the neighbours? I’d be tempted to try that if I was you…
I’ve just got to have a go at making some of those hand cupcakes. Not for the neighbours, for us!
